Many of you may be surprised there are sites besides Amazon offering free Kindle books as well as offering a storefront spotlighting the many – and talented – independent authors. Check out some of these and I will be adding to this list periodically.

The Christian Classics Ethereal Library – click here to see the post – seeks to build up the church by making classic Christian literature widely available and promoting its use for edification and study by interested Christians, seekers, and scholars.
The Internet Sacred Text Archives – click here to read the post – they bill themselves as the largest freely available archive of online books about religion, mythology, folklore and the esoteric on the Internet. The site is dedicated to religious tolerance and scholarship, and claims to have the largest readership of any similar site on the web.
Open Library – click here to read the post – has over 30 million records with a database infrastructure and wiki interface.
Project Gutenberg website – click here to read that post – this is the first site ever devoted to free eBooks, featuring books in the public domain.
