Thank you for your interest in advertising with the Kindle Books and Tips blog!
The majority of posts to the Kindle Books and Tips blog provides a mixture of free Kindle book offers to both the Amazon Kindle store and to sites other than Amazon, featuring discounted or “exclusive” deals to the blog readers, as well as Kindle tips in an effort to keep the blog’s participation at a high level. My informal results and feedback from the blog’s readers tell me they enjoy the mix, and the clickthrough rates and purchases of Kindle books for sale by independent authors have been doing better than my expectations.
What does that mean for you? A lot, potentially, as you can have your book(s) highlighted on the blog to our opt-in subscribers. If you choose to advertise, your book’s particulars will be sent out to just over 675,000 enthusiastic Kindle readers, including:
- 600,000+ people accessing the blog via the free reader app for their Kindle Fire or Android devices (e.g., phones, other tablets).
- 150,000+ people via email, social media subscription, directly on the blog’s website, or via an RSS reader.
Let’s be honest about web marketing: while the above numbers look impressive I am not going to try and fool you as the reality is although each day’s posts go out to over 750,000 people approximately 100,000 people take action (i.e., read a particular day’s post using one of the methods listed above) each day; it also does not mean I am implying 100,000 people will buy your book. I’d rather be upfront with you about circulation numbers as I’m not aware of, for example, any Kindle-focused website truly delivering 100% of their hundreds of thousands of Facebook followers for daily posts.
So, what will it cost? I have established the pricing based on the as-current rates of similar sized sites and adjusted it on a cost per thousand readers model, with a couple of differences (in order to make it easier) as noted below.
Each day will consist of (a) a maximum of three posts per day with a mix of bargain, regular-priced, and free books, (b) one featured book posting per day, and (c) a possibility of one other post with content at my discretion. Each Saturday and Sunday will also offer a post featuring new releases. I am certain this will continue to evolve over time as I am considering other alternatives.
What Type(s) of Books Will You Accept?
Based on surveys and demographics over the last two years, the blog’s readers are primarily females in the USA ranging from 35 to 55 years of age. Please notice I said “primarily” as there are a lot of men and other age groups; 35 to 55 year old women in the USA make up approximately 45% of the readership.
Most books will be accepted, but it is easier to tell you what will be rejected vs. accepted.
If your book appears in the “Erotica” category, references or appears to be pornographic or graphic sex scenes, has a cover that suggests an overly sexual theme, a book description or book review suggesting an overly sexual theme, or if the sample of the book available online contains a blatant sex scene it will be rejected immediately. I will err on the side of caution with this one.
If your book appears to be of an offensive or controversial nature or subject matter, it could be rejected. I will also immediately reject anything that appears to be a get rich quick scheme.
Unless your book is a new release (discussed a little bit further down the page), each book needs to have at least a 4 out of 5 star rating on the Amazon USA website from at least 8 customer reviews – and at least 4 of those need to be Amazon verified purchase reviews from the Amazon USA website; Goodreads, Smashwords, Amazon UK, or other sites’ ratings of your book will not be considered as the majority of our subscribers want to shop directly from the Amazon USA site. I do read the content of the reviews, and will reject a book if it appears to be a paid or shill review despite having the Amazon verified purchase tag on the review.
I’ve written a couple of posts that give further details on how I choose the books to promote; granted, this was when everything in the Kindle world was 100% free, but I still use the same criteria. You can take what I’ve written with a grain of salt (or not), but I have been a successful self-published author in addition to an overweight, silver-haired blogger.

Free Kindle Book Posting
Each Regular Post (see below) will have approximately three to four Kindle books offered for free, and pricing for one of these spots is a flat $25 each. I utilize the same criteria in the selection of regular book offers, and if your book is accepted I will require the flat fee to be paid in advance to guarantee the spot. All invoicing will be done via PayPal, and payment is due within 48 hours of the issuance of the PayPal invoice. Once you purchase a date, if you need to move the date that’s okay: you agree to give at least five business days’ advance notice in order for us to honor your request.

Regular Book Posting
Each Regular post will typically have two to three books priced at $0.99 or less (but not free), as well as up to two books priced higher than $1.00. Experience has shown most books priced at 99 cents tend to do well and books priced higher do not. For books priced at $1.00 or above, a spot will cost a flat $60; for books priced at $0.99, a spot will cost a flat $30. I do not utilize a percentage of revenue model (based upon the reported sales on my affiliate codes) as some sites do, as I want to keep it simple for me and potentially cheaper for you as an advertiser.
To guarantee these spots, I will require the flat fee to be paid in advance, and all invoicing will be done via PayPal. Payment is due within 48 hours of the issuance of the PayPal invoice. Once you purchase a date, if you need to move the date that’s okay: you agree to give at least five business days’ advance notice in order for us to honor your request.

Featured Book Posting
If you purchase a Featured Book Posting, your book will be the only book in that post and it will post at approximately 9:00 a.m. Central time. Why post it at 9:00 a.m.? It will be at the top of the blog’s website for a longer period of time and receives the most “eyeballs” in terms of page views. Additionally, it will be at the top of the page for those blog readers who receive each day’s posts via email.
I will also include a brief biography of you if it is on your Amazon author page, a link to your Amazon author page, and the picture of you on your Amazon author page if a picture is available. Don’t have an Amazon author page or a photo of yourself on an Amazon author page? What are you waiting for? It’s free to do and helps drive sales of your books!
Featured Book Posting are booked on a first-come / first-served basis.
The pricing of a Featured Book Posting is $100 if your book is priced as a free title on the day of promotion, and $125 if your book is priced at $0.99 or higher on the day of promotion: these spots tend to sell out in advance. To guarantee these spots, I will require the flat fee to be paid in advance, and all invoicing will be done via PayPal. Payment is due within 48 hours of the issuance of the PayPal invoice.

New Release Posting
I also accept spots featuring new releases – in other words, the number of required reviews used with a Regular or Featured post are thrown out the window as this post focuses on releases that may not, as an example, have had the opportunity to collect many customer reviews.
Other than waiving the number of reviews, the other criteria regarding content, etc. are identical to those of a Regular post. There will be one New Release post each on Saturday and Sunday, and it will contain a maximum of six Kindle book offerings in the post.
To guarantee these spots, I will require the flat fee to be paid in advance, and all invoicing will be done via PayPal. Payment is due within 48 hours of the issuance of the PayPal invoice. Once you purchase a date, if you need to move the date that’s okay: you agree to give at least ten business days’ advance notice in order for us to honor your request.
