In a post earlier this week, I told you about the Read an eBook week promotion (click here to see it in case you missed it) which runs from March 6 – 13.
I suspect next week – starting tomorrow – is going to be an active one on the blog, as I already know of several authors and publishers who are going to be offering a unique book each day of the promotion, as well as many of the same offering anywhere from one to three books in various formats. Some of these I know about already and have the post setup and ready to go, and some of them I’m going to have to wait on until the event arrives prior to telling you about them. If you combine these with Amazon’s normal free eBook offerings, I am expecting – and kind of hoping – for a lot of free reading material this week (Amazon hasn’t officially announced participation in the event).
As the Kindle only holds 15 posts of my blog before wiping it away, I don’t want you to miss any of the offers. If you’re like me, you’re not going to get in trouble at work receiving an email or receiving a Twitter tweet or text message, etc. vs. sitting and looking at your Kindle (unless it’s your lunch hour) as it is on your computer screen vs. looking like your lounging away reading a novel. That being said, here are two alternative ways to receive the blog posts:
You can follow the blog on Twitter by pointing your web browser to http://twitter.com/fkbt and start following the posts.
Alternatively, you can send a text message of “follow fkbt” (without the quotes) to 40404 and future blog posts will come across as a text message.
If you go to the blog’s main page (http://fkbt.wordpress.com/) , on the right-hand side you will see a section titled “Receive Updates by Email!” Put your email address in there, then press the “Sign Me Up!” button. After you do that, you will receive a confirmation email you will need to respond to in order to make sure I’m not spamming anyone. After that, you will receive an email notifying you of each post – I actually turned this feature off as it is annoying (to me) to receive so many emails – I prefer the Kindle updates, but that’s just one fat guy’s opinion.
So, get ready for a few free book offers in celebration of Read an eBook week!
