Has the whole farm-to-table dinner movement left you slightly puzzled? You’re aware of it as a theoretical concept but have no idea of what’s really involved.
Do you want the inside scoop on how to embrace the movement AND change the dynamic of your dinner parties?
We thought you might.
This cookbook has been created to give all those people who can’t make it to the Old 1862 Ranch in Reno, Nevada, their very own taste of relaxed, gourmet, farm fresh recipes, which you can easily recreate. Meals are made with local ingredients and explained simply, so if you’re a jump-into-it-with-both-hands novice, or the penultimate entertainer, you’re going to enjoy using this book to wow your guests.
Although the famous Old 1862 Ranch serves 60 guests a night, we’ve created the book for 4 – 8 servings so you can tailor it easily dependent on your guest list.
Then sit back, wine glass in hand, and wait for the compliments to flow.
About the Author:
Chef April Woodward has been a nurse for many years but has always loved to cook, bake and entertain. In 2010, she finally succumbed to the ever increasing pull of cooking for a living. She left her nursing job to attend the Cook Street School of Culinary Arts in Denver, Colorado.
After a whirlwind five month education in everything from Carde Manger, Wine & Spirits, Baking & Pastry and cooking lessons in Italy and France, she capped off her time at Cook Street with a four month culinary internship at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort in St. Thomas, USVI.
In 2011, she returned to Denver for a course on the business of being a personal chef. Although much has changed since her cooking school days, she continues as a personal chef, and added catering, book writing and product development to her business as well.
April still champions eating healthy foods; locally grown when possible. She dreams of a big vegetable and herb garden on a large block of land, having time to decorate her house and holding regular farm-to-table dinner parties filled with fascinating people.
In the meantime she lives in Reno, Nevada with her partner, Jordan, and her ragdoll cat, Bonda Ah Choo, cooking for her willing foodie friends whenever she can.
