Over the last few weeks, I’ve been trying something different and have an informal poll where you could interact and share your ideas via the comments section of the blog. I thought the first one would get a few responses, but I was blown away at the level of participation for the first poll – over 1,100 comments, and it has been the most viewed page (of all the pages) of the blog, ever. While participation has dropped off a little bit since the novelty has worn off, I encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and give it a try!
If you are reading this post on your e-Ink Kindle or received the post via email, you can always see this week’s poll question if you click here or type in http://wp.me/p2b82w-4dm into your web browser.
So, here’s this week’s informal poll question: “Who do you credit for your love of reading?” Let us know in the comments section just below this post and give us some commentary / details behind your answer as you see fit!
I’ll start it off: that would be my Dad.
My Dad is always reading and encouraged it with my sister and I: some people would say my Dad is so tight he squeaks when he walks (if you’re reading this, Dad, you know it’s true), but he never held back when it came to giving us reading material. I spent many an afternoon either at the public library or V’s Bookshelf, the used bookstore in my small hometown in Northeast Texas, experiencing new adventures or making new best friends via the pages of books.
I also inherited the “stay up too late reading” disease from my Dad. I can’t tell you how many times I have become so engrossed in a book I lose all track of time just like he does, then realize it’s 1:30 in the morning!
What about you? Please answer away in the comments section below this post on the blog’s website. Have a great rest of your weekend!
