For you Kindle Fire owners today’s free app of the day, normally $9.99, looks pretty neat: Audubon Birds: A Field Guide to North American Birds, which has received an average user rating of 4 out of 5 stars based on 57 customer reviews. This appears to blend a book and an interactive app into one spot. Reading through those customer reviews, there is an add-on you can download for free that adds a lot more to the picture library. One reviewer, who said he also had the paper version of the guide, said the pictures on the Kindle Fire were much better than the paper version.
