This is just a reminder to not forget this month’s informal poll on the Amazon Kindle discussion board…this month’s poll continues to have outstanding participation, with almost 900 posts from over 300 people as I type this blog post. Can we reach 1,000 posts?
Each month for the past year I have started or participated in an informal poll on the Amazon Kindle Discussion boards asking people what they have been or are reading on their Kindles. This is part of an effort for me to find things out of the mainstream I might be interested in at hopefully a lower price vs. buying and reading what everyone else is reading on the latest NYTimes bestseller lists; while I do read what is on the NY Times bestseller list, and enjoy a lot of it, there are a lot of authors out there in the Kindle self-publishing or “indie” space I have really enjoyed, too.
Each post starts off something like this:
Time for the monthly poll: I’ve received several great tips on past monthly polls with what you are reading on your Kindle!
Here’s how this works – list a book you are currently reading or just recently read on your Kindle (insert the product link using the little button above the text box so others can find it), whether you would recommend it, did you get it free, and anything else you would care to share.
If you would like to check this month’s poll out, you can click here or type in http://amzn.to/gE5GC0 into your web browser and start! As an update, I did finish reading Run, by Michaelbrent Collings (click here to see it), which cost me all of 99 cents – it came recommended on a previous poll, so I tried the free sample, liked it, and bought the book. It’s a mystery / science fiction book, and I thought it was great, with a neat twist at the end. I do hope the author will write a sequel!
Since completing that one, I started and stopped a few books, and seem to be back on yet another science fiction kick as I am reading F. Paul Wilson’s An Enemy of the State (click here to see it or type in http://amzn.to/hcejHo into your computer’s web browser)’ I actually picked this up for free over a year ago but am just now getting around to reading it – it’s $2.99 now. I am 47% of the way through it, and am enjoying it. No, there are no aliens but is about man’s progression across the galaxy and the resulting conflicts.
As usual, I have picked up several books and added them to my electronic “to be read” pile….now, if there were only enough hours in the day to read everything in that pile!
Anyway, what are YOU reading on your Kindle?
