Seeing as how the World Series started last night, combined with I have been a frustrated Texas Ranger fan for about 40 years, I thought baseball would be an appropriate topic for a free book offering this morning. Christy Matthewson was one of the legends of the game, and he wrot e a book about pitching combined with his insights into the hitters and legends of his era called Pitching in a Pinch, or Baseball From the Inside; in Matthewson’s era they didn’t have pitch counts, really didn’t care if your arm was tired, and it would not be unusual at all to pitch 4 or more days in a row.
You can pick up Pitching in a Pinch, or Baseball From the Inside for free from the Project Gutenberg website – the “plain” Kindle version can be yours if you click here or type in http://tinyurl.com/2byaph3 into your web browser, and the Kindle version with images can be yours if you click here or type in http://tinyurl.com/23h6ld7 into your web browser.
If you have downloaded this to your computer, you will need to transfer it over to your Kindle. In a post yesterday (click here to see it in case you missed it), I told you how to do it – it’s pretty easy.
Good thing this is a best of seven series!
